Fuel supply for the new G3 combined-cycle gas turbine and the four existing gas-fired boilers of the "F" units at Dunamenti Erőmű.
As general EPC contractor, our task was to prepare the detailed design of the gas receiving station, build the station, and supply, install and commission the equipment.
Client: Dunamenti Erőmű
About the facility:
The gas receiving station supplies fuel to two operating units.
- A newly built 400 MW combined-cycle gas turbine (Unit G3)
Maximum gas consumption: 80,550 Nm3/h
Operating gas pressure: 28 barg
Operating gas temperature: 25 °C
- The existing gas-fired boilers of the "F" section
Maximum gas consumption: 220,000 Nm3/h
Operating gas pressure: 6 barg
Operating gas temperature: 20 °C
The facility receives natural gas from the FGSz high-pressure network (22–63 barg). The gas flows through three gas filters and an MKEH-certified custody-transfer ultrasonic meter, then on to the heat exchangers. The gas is heated by three 3,200 kW gas-fired boilers via two heat exchangers for Unit G3 and three for the "F" unit. At this point the system splits: one branch runs to the existing gas-fired boilers through a gas pressure regulator made up of 3 branches (110,000 Nm3/h per branch); the boilers operate at 6 barg.
Gas for the G3 turbine can be regulated in two ways.
- In reducing mode, the incoming gas pressure of 63 barg is reduced to 28 barg.
- In compressor mode, the incoming gas pressure of 22 barg is compressed so that, further down the process, the 28 barg branch is available to the turbine.
The G3 turbine requires high-purity natural gas at an operating pressure of 28 barg and a temperature of 25 °C. This is ensured by a fine regulator and a gas filter with liquid separator installed upstream of the gas turbine.
